1987
The leap into entrepreneurship
On November 26, 1987, Thomas Kern launches his own business. From the very first day, he set out to be more than a supplier. The company quickly became a full service provider for workplace equipment including packing stations and cutting systems.

Expansion to assembly workstations
The offering grows. In addition to packing and cutting workstations, the portfolio now includes assembly workstations. The goal of being able to offer complete workplace solutions comes even closer.

Thomas Kern and Urs Studer found Kern Studer AG. With a growing range of products for the construction and related industries, the company quickly earns an outstanding reputation.
2005
An Idea Takes Shape
Demand for custom workstation solutions continues to rise. This sparks the vision to develop our own system that offers maximum flexibility and outstanding ergonomics.
2008
Development of the ERGO-line Workstation System
The vision becomes reality. A modular workstation system takes shape: Carefully designed, ergonomic, and flexible enough to adapt to an impressive range of needs.
2010
Market Launch
At Motek in Stuttgart, we present the new workstation system to the European market for the first time.
2012
ERGO-line Brand Launch
After rigorous testing and many refinements, we introduce ERGO-line as an independent brand with a clear focus on quality and ergonomics.
2013
First LogiMAT in Stuttgart
ERGO-line premieres at LogiMat—one of Europe’s most important intralogistics events.
2015
Dominic Kern Joins the Team
With Dominic Kern, the next generation joins the company and continues the family tradition.
2016
Strategic realignment
In 2016, the ERGO line division becomes fully integrated into Kern Studer AG. This paves the way for the expansion into neighboring countries. Shortly after, the company enters the German market with a location in Kitzingen, marking the beginning of a broader plan to offer products and services across Europe.

Expansion of our service offering
We develop an innovative drawing configurator that lets you easily and visually configure custom workstation solutions.
2019
Facility 1 in Schwarzach am Main
Our first facility with office and warehouse space is built in Schwarzach, a place for new ideas and continued growth.
2023
Facility 2 in Schwarzach am Main
A second facility is completed and put into operation, sending a strong signal of ongoing growth and development.

New product lines: ERGO-Tower & ERGO-Light
